Every stage adds capability without flattening provenance, uncertainty, or user authority. Q can build and propose; the user remains responsible for what becomes governed.

Preserve
The original is protected before analysis creates derivatives.
Where technically possible, Quantaible records the original bytes, filename, metadata, capture method, timestamp, and a local cryptographic digest before generated transcripts, clips, summaries, or annotations are created.
Understand
Q identifies what the material contains and what deserves attention.
Q can identify material type, language, people, organisations, places, dates, claims, citations, contradictions, missing context, risk areas, and questions raised by the source.
Investigate
Quantaible builds the environment around the material.
The Investigation Home, Q Tabs, viewers, claim surfaces, source tools, timelines, comparisons, and specialist analysis surfaces are generated according to the material rather than forced into one rigid sequence.
Verify
Claims, sources, contradictions, and uncertainty stay inspectable.
Q may compare, trace, challenge, and propose. Verification remains connected to exact source locations, methods, confidence, limitations, contradictory indicators, and unresolved questions.
Receipt
The result can carry the path that produced it.
Findings expose what is supported, mixed, contradicted, excluded, or unresolved. A Receipt may preserve the approved release boundary only after explicit user review and issuance.
Original before derivative
Analysis should never quietly replace the evidence.
Quantaible keeps the untouched original separate from generated transcripts, extracted text, clips, frames, summaries, annotations, and model outputs. Every derivative should retain a route back to the material and location that produced it.

Q Tabs are generated to match the source and remain visible as the user moves deeper. These examples describe public Investigation routes, not a rigid internal sequence.
Video or recording
Q can preserve the original recording, map timecodes, prepare transcript and media-analysis surfaces, and keep observed behaviour separate from interpretation.
PDF or document
Q can preserve pages and sections, identify claims and citations, inspect conflicts, and retain exact return points to the original document.
Image or screenshot
Q can preserve the image, expose visible text, locate the original source where possible, and separate visual observation from contextual verification.
Plain question
When there is no file yet, Q can create a structured investigation around interpretation, sources, evidence, reasoning, Findings, and a possible Receipt.
Observation before inference
Q must show what it saw—and what it only inferred.
Especially in media and behavioural analysis, responsible output depends on keeping direct evidence, model detection, interpretation, and uncertainty separate.
Directly visible, audible, or present in the original material.
At 02:14.6, the speaker looked down, compressed their lips, and paused before answering.
Identified by a model, measurement, parser, or forensic method.
A scene boundary and audio discontinuity were detected near the same timecode.
A possible explanation that is not directly established by the source.
The pause may relate to uncertainty, recall, editing, or an unrelated distraction.
The available evidence is insufficient for a responsible conclusion.
The recording quality is too low to determine whether the audio was materially altered.
Q should not automatically declare that a person is lying, guilty, deceptive, mentally unwell, medically diagnosed, or defined by a protected attribute. No automatic deception score belongs in the default product.
Verification without false certainty
A result should show its support, contradictions, and limits.
Every meaningful finding should retain the exact source location, method, confidence or strength, limitations, supporting evidence, contradictory indicators, and whether human review remains required.

Findings display the governed outcome while preserving disagreement and uncertainty. A Receipt is a separate governed record that carries only the user-approved boundary and is never issued merely because the system is technically ready.
